Halloween today is one of the most favored of all the holidays – so much so, that even hedge fund bosses on Manhattan’s Upper East Side deck out their brownstones with over the top All Hallows Eve decor.  Between dressing up in costumes, going to parties and the beloved tradition of trick or treating, what’s not to love about Halloween?

Some may say that while they enjoy the holiday and the spooky fun spirit it brings, they do not love forfeiting their home’s usual polished style to the run of the mill tacky Halloween decorations.

And while we ourselves love a bit of playful –  even a little bit scary – decor for the holiday, we realize it’s not for everyone.  So for those of you who are looking for a more refined Hallow’s Eve aesthetic this year, this one’s for you – because you shouldn’t have to forfeit good taste to enjoy Halloween, right?

To help you start the revelry in style, we found 30 Halloween decor ideas for both inside and outside of your home, that are so chic it’s almost scary.  Heck, some of our finds you might even want to keep out all year long.

From tabletop treats to other-worldly accents to trick or treat ready porches, behold our top 30 picks for a sleek yet spooky Halloween:

1. Tabletop treats.

For a colorful look, we like these porcelain Day of the Dead Plates ($40) from Williams Sonoma that showcase the Mexican art of calaveras.  Grandin Road’s Watercolor Skull Plates ($59) offer a more muted yet still colorful take on the skeleton look those looking for something more subdued.

For serving soups we love Horchow’s Pumpkin Soup Bowl (set of 4, $150) with a removable lid.  The golden finish makes them a great option for Thanksgiving, too.  Why should your tabletop have all the fun?  Bring a little Halloween into your kitchen with Staub’s cast iron Pumpkin Cocotte ($180).  It will also double as a beautiful serving dish for your favorite harvest stew.

4. Window dressings.

Let your neighbors and trick-or-treaters know you’ve got an eye on them with these cute Glow in the dark eyes ($8).  Another fun pick are these creepy Shady Spiders ($20).  Both are simple to stick up and easy to take down – not to mention they won’t take away from the rest of your home’s decor.

For subtle scares, we like Crate and Barrel’s rustic Tapered Candles ($19-$27) that give us Disney’s Haunted House vibes when placed inside your window ledge.  These battery operated LED Spiderwebs ($30) make for a great window option because they work both inside or outside your window if you prefer to keep the scary vibes outdoors completely.

6. Ghoulishly good yard decorations.

Create dark shadows with Grandin Road’s Cat and Witch Silhouettes ($49-$129).  For added drama be sure to light them a glow from behind or use the aforementioned fog machine.

Another classic option is a skeleton, of course.  Pottery Barn’s Mr. Bones ($79) is life size and can be hung, sat or placed however and wherever you may wish.  These faceless Witch Stakes ($100) will add a wicked touch to your lawn.  If you really want to channel some of the world’s most beautiful cemeteries, try these gothic Lady Tombstones ($159-$179).  We can’t help but love the headless angel ourselves.
