The mild-mannered month of February packs a punch every year, with plenty of grand and glamorous events to attend. Kicking off “Fashion Month” is New York Fashion Week, which features a brief yet influential schedule.

Rotterdam is the place to be for art shows. The city is hosting five this month, including Art Rotterdam. Meanwhile, Stockholm hosts its annual Design Week, showcasing the best in Scandinavian design. Lest we forget that the month of February means Valentines Day, Sotheby’s is hosting its annual Erotic Sale. Closing out a dazzling month is the all-important Paris Fashion Week.

Home to some of our favorite shopping and fashion scenes, London Fashion Week returns with shows from Victoria Beckham, Burberry and Christopher Kane, among others – Feb 14 – 18

Versace, Prada and Gucci are just a handful of the brands presenting their latest collections at Milan Fashion Week – Feb 18 – 24

Closing out “Fashion Month” is arguably the mother of them all: Paris Fashion Week – Feb 24 – Mar 3

Kimono: Kyoto to Catwalk at the Victoria & Albert Museum is Europe’s first major exhibition on the kimono. The show will trace its sartorial and social significance from the 1660’s to the present day, both in Japan and the rest of the world. The exhibition will include more than 300 works, among them rare 17th- and 18th-century kimonos never seen before in the UK, theater costumes, and contemporary examples created by Yves Saint Laurent and Alexander McQueen, among others – Feb 29 – Jun 1

Frieze Los Angeles returns for the 2nd time to Paramount Pictures Studios – Feb 14 – 16

Organized annually by the Art Dealers Association of America (ADAA), The Art Show at the Park Avenue Armory offers intimately scaled and thoughtfully curated presentations by artists from a variety of genres, practices, and origins – Feb 27 – Mar 1

In a cheeky nod to Valentine’s Day, Sotheby’s hosts its annual Erotic Sale, an auction of paintings, sculpture, drawings, photography, books and design representing the human body – Feb 11 – 20

Bonham’s will host The Gentleman’s Library Sale, featuring must have items for any aspiring gentleman’s library – Feb 12 – 13

Sotheby’s is hosting its 6th installment of their annual NOW! sale, which gathers an eclectic selection of 150 paintings, sculptures, photographs and design pieces from the 1930’s to the present day – Feb 18 – 26

Interaction 20 in Milan will explore cutting edge design and how it has impacted the evolution of design – Feb 2 – 7

During Stockholm Design Week, the style-centric city is filled with high-profile design events, showrooms and exhibitions showcasing Scandinavian design. This year marks 70 years of the event which runs alongside the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair – Feb 3 – 9

Palm Springs plays host to Modernism Week, an annual celebration of mid-century architecture and design; this year, over 350 events are planned – Feb 13 – 23

Some 98% of the earth qualifies as non urban. Thanks to global warming, collapsing economies, and unprecedented migration, that part of the world is now under siege. In the exhibition Countryside, The Future, Rem Koolhaas will team up with AMO, the think tank associated with his firm, Office for Metropolitan Architecture, and various other collaborators from the worlds of architecture and design to mull over what the coming years could mean for the countryside – Feb 20 – Aug 14
