1. Europe

The 11-room Paragon 700 Hotel & Spa is an elegantly restored red palace in the heart of Puglia’s white city Ostuni. The palace’s former water chamber has been transformed into a spa that will offer a Turkish bath, Himalayan salt wall, multi-sensory shower and a natural whirlpool dug into the ground – Feb 1

Set to inject a serious jolt of bohemian style into a former boot factory in Bristol’s St. Paul’s district is the long-awaited Artist Residence Bristol. The hotel will have 23 bedrooms, a bar, a café and the Boot Factory restaurant. Guests can expect industrial touches and Georgian cornices rubbing up against vibrant artwork by the likes of Pure Evil and Bristolian trailblazer Rose Vickers.

Adventure travel company Hvitserk has joined together with outdoor clothing brand Norrøna to create Norrøna Hvitserk Adventure, specializing in luxury outdoor adventure tours of Norway.

The name is synonymous with law and order, but Great Scotland Yard has now entered new territory. It’s also a five-star hotel. The hotel consists of 152 bedrooms, plus a standalone Georgian townhouse serving as the hotel’s version of a presidential suite.

The Nobu Hotel Barcelona brings with its the city’s first Nobu restaurant, located on the 23rd floor of the hotel.

2. United States

The Greystone Hotel in Miami Beach, an adults-only 1930’s boutique hotel, has reopened after a complete revitalization. The boho glam hotel boasts a range of culinary venues including Serevene, its signature restaurant, along with fast-casual Kobo, Greystone Rooftop, and the Golden Gator underground Champagne lounge

Luxury, sustainability, greenery and retro art all share top billing together with views of the Palm Harbor Marina and Intracoastal Waterway at The Ben in West Palm Beach, Florida . Amenities include a fire pit, fitness center, rooftop lounge and pool with cabanas and bike rentals – Feb 13

Featuring 156 guest rooms and suites, a communal kitchen, social dining and entertainment areas is The Wayfarer DTLA. Among the LA hotel’s entertainment spaces are the Gaslighter Social Club with a self-serve tap wall and an underground bar and entertainment venue called Lilly Rose – Feb 14

Reopening after an extensive renovation, the Shandaken Inn in the heart of the Catskills will offer 15 unique guest rooms. Originally built in the 1920s, the property is bordered by Esopus Creek, famous for fly-fishing. Upscale amenities include Frette linens, cozy fireplaces, and mountain views from each room

The Ritz-Carlton South Beach has reopened after a complete transformation. The oceanfront resort features alfresco dining at the DiLido Beach Club, an outdoor pool with ocean views and private cabanas. It also features a spa and rooms overlooking the ocean, pool or South Beach. The Lapidus Bar is inspired by Miami’s classic cocktail bars of years past

3. Asia

A series of authentic nha ruong (garden homes) form Vietnam’s Ancient Hue. The boutique hotel welcomes guests into five of the former royal residences used by the extended imperial families where a central heated pool and garden, following Feng Shui principles, allow for year-round swimming.

Mirroring the adjacent Chao Phraya River, the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River features flowing water throughout a series of outdoor terraces and cascading buildings. The hotel will offer 299 guest rooms, a river-themed kid’s club, an urban spa, two infinity pools with river views, and multiple dining options. It will also include the BKK Social Club with cocktails from world-renowned mixologist Philip Bischoff

Kamala Beach on the popular Thai island of Phuket is also known as Millionaire’s Mile thanks to its high concentration of super swanky resorts and private villas and the InterContinental Phuket Resort, featuring 221 rooms and villas, is the latest big name luxury brand to move into the neighborhood

The world’s fastest bullet train, called the Jingzhang Intercity Railway has launched in China ahead of the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022, with trains making the 108-mile trip from the capital to ski slopes in Zhangjiakou in only 45 minutes

4. Middle East and Africa

Both the inside and out of ME Dubai were designed by the late starchitect Zaha Hadid, which is set to open in Dubai’s flashy Burj Khalifa district this month. The hotel will be housed in the Opus building’s eye-catching twin towers. It will encompass 74 rooms and 19 suites plus 94 serviced apartments

Set in one of Beirut’s bohemian quarters, Arthaus Gemmayze is a new boutique hotel reflecting the city’s artistic side. This chic urban hideaway is a city oasis with turn-of-the-century cement tiles and Carrara marble floors.  It also has an exotic garden with monolithic columns and a refreshing pool

The lifestyle Habitas brand, which started with the chic Habitas Tulum hotel in Mexico, has opened up a new hotel in Namibia. Habitas Namibia is situated on the outskirts of Windhoek, in a large private reserve and has 15 private guest suites, each referred to as a “custom-built private lodge.” All are equipped with outdoor and indoor showers, private viewing decks with telescopes for stargazing

5. Latin America and Caribbean

Planning your 2020 family reunion? Villas at the newly opened Tryall Club in Jamaica range from one-bedroom options to as large as 10-bedroom accommodations. The new beach club  comes with an oceanfront setting, private beach, infinity pool and lounge area. It also comes with a wood-fired pizza oven

Reopening after closing in 2017 following Hurricane Maria, Dominica’s Rosalie Bay Eco Resort will feature 28 wind- and solar-powered luxury rooms, a sustainably designed spa and an updated fitness center. Oh, and did we mention it’s set on a picturesque black sand beach in the foothills of Morne Trois Pitons?
