Winter is coming. But will we actually get to ski? Or snowboard, or snowshoe, or even have a good old fashioned community snowball fight? This is what we’re reduced to in 2020, dear reader. Noses pressed against the window, hoping for snow. Sipping hot chocolate and longing for the perennial joys of the winter season and snow sports. We’re gonna think positively and plan for the best. Which means it’s time to hit the ski shop! Our correspondent Julie Chang Murphy has curated a list of what to buy in the best winter 2020-21 luxury designer fashion ski wear, accessories, apparel and gear, including jackets, pants, hats, gloves, and goggles. Let it snow!
Team Snow, look alive! This one is for you. As much as we love to ski and snowboard (and as you know, we really do), the sweetest part of a ski weekend can be après-ski. When we ask friends about the best places in the world to ski, part of the conversation is always about what there is do after everyone comes off the mountain. Which leads us to an even more pressing question: what to wear après-ski? Our correspondent Julie Chang Murphy has come to our rescue with her style tips on the the best luxury looks for après-ski this year.
You’ve had an excellent day in the snow: skiing, riding, tubing, snow-biking, perhaps even doing a round of snow yoga. But now the sun is setting, the fire’s roaring in the fireplace, your friends and family are starting to gather around, and it’s time for a hot cup of cocoa, an ice-cold beer, a good bottle of red, or perhaps a snifter of vintage port. What to wear? Whether you’ve earned that drink by exceeding your personal best outdoors, or whether you’re basically faking it, having spent the entire day inside at the spa (yes, we’ve done that once or twice), this is a chance to relax, unwind, and be both chic and totally comfortable – how many times does life present such a wonderful opportunity?
As you prepare for ski and snowboard season in the Northern Hemisphere, and plot your snow adventures for the next six months, we thought it was time for a round-up of what our luxury class friends will have in their backcountry backpacks and LV suitcases. A couple of our lucky friends regularly ski the world off-piste, and at least half of our pals will be spending the year-end break on the slopes at a luxury resort, so we got the inside skinny on what the jet set is loving right now (you might find some good holiday gift ideas here, too).
