We predicted that Gucci would be the force that brings the world together and changes the way we see ornamentation and embellishment for years to come. And now there’s further proof: Gucci is coming home with us – literally. Our smartphones started vibrating like crazy here at Dandelion Chandelier one morning last week. The email subject lines and texts were all pretty much the same: Gucci Décor has arrived! The exclusive new home collection designed by Alessandro Michele includes both furniture and decorative objects. It’s available in New York only at the Gucci flagship store and at Bergdorf’s – and online at Gucci.com. Just in time for New York Fashion Week. And for the upcoming holiday gift-giving season.

The line is, of course, full of bright, happy color. The items are adorned with motifs from the House of Gucci, including insects, dogs, cats, botanical prints, geometric patterns and “codes.” Fun!

The standout offerings are:

–Lacquered chairs upholstered with embroidered seats and finished with brass nail heads around their edges. There are six versions to choose from – with two different frames – the price is $2,600 each. Each chair is made to order, and the house says that the embroidery alone takes 10 hours to complete (estimated delivery time on these is up to 21 weeks – eek!) The chairs come in a dark-cherry Bordeaux finish (our personal favorite) as well as green, red, peacock blue and black lacquer. The seats are embroidered with a spaniel, a bee, a tiger, a moth, and a cat. We can see wonderful brunches and dinner parties happening at a table set with these chairs. They might even save your Thanksgiving dinner conversation from taking the wrong turn – it would be impossible to sulk or be a jerk while sitting in one of these.

–Double-sided three-panel screens that are 7 ½ feet tall and 6 feet wide, made from wood, brass nail-heads, Lurex and velvet. They can serve as an accent piece, or an actual room divider. Prices range from $22,000 for Lurex fabric to $32,000 for velvet. There’s also one four-panel option, with a floral print inspired by the ready-to-wear collection on one side, and the house’s famous bees on the other. Our favorite is a whimsical pink-green-and-blue jacquard print depicting octopus and jellyfish – perfect for a home by the sea. They’re made to order, and the Gucci website says that deliver could take as long as 15 weeks. So if you want one for your villa in St. Bart’s for New Year’s Eve, you need to act now.

–Scented candles made of wax infused with aromatic extracts and essential oils. There are 16 from which to choose, and they come encased in a porcelain holder with a matching lid that can be reused as a decorative object or container. The porcelain is produced by Richard Ginori, a Florentine company founded in the 18th Four are stark white, and the rest are vividly colored. There are four fragrances from which to choose. Fumus “captures the fragrance of birch, orange leaves and beeswax,” and is intended to evoke an artisan’s workshop in Florence. Inventum is a floral with notes of Taif’s ancient Damask rose. Herbosum smells like “a garden draped in morning mist with the scent of tomato leaves and aromatic plants peppered with basil and lemongrass.” Esotericum combines the bitter aroma of Seville oranges with jasmine, leather and salt. Is this making anyone else hungry? Maybe it’s just us. The various scented candles are all available immediately, with prices ranging from $290 to $450.

The collection also includes other items made in Italy: incense burners ($195-$310), metal trays ($650-$1,150, cushions ($1,250-$1,650), mugs ($290-$350), wallpaper ($150-$360 per roll), and metal folding tables ($1,250). Various items have different delivery times, so be sure to check that as you’re making your shopping list.

So if you need a host/hostess gift, birthday or holiday present, you’ve got lots of new options. Bragging rights won’t last long. You’ve been warned. And yes, self-gifting is A Thing, and is totally allowed. Have fun.
