What will the world of luxury grooming products look like in 2021 post-pandemic for men? Is everyone going back to their Before Times routine? Or will those masks and scrubs that helped pass the time during the Great Lockdown earn a permanent place on our bathroom counters? We’re starting to understand the impact that the global COVID-19 crisis has had on how men think about appearance, self-care and personal luxuries. Our correspondent Tomas White has curated a list of the top luxury grooming products for men for life after the quarantine in 2021, inducing the return to office work, along with thoughts on how coronavirus changed the traditional male morning routine.

Male grooming products and routines for work days after quarantine 2021

Let’s face itit’s time to look presentable. Grooming is back, though it’s certainly been a while since men have had to think much about it. Scruffy beards, unkempt hair, dry skin – all were largely hidden from the view of those on the other side of the Zoom. Along with, thankfully, an inability to smell the regrettable and slightly pungent smell from a lack of regular hygiene.

1. Chopping the stubble

Chances are it’s time to reincorporate a daily shave as part of your routine.  And you might as well do it in style, with an artisan Italian product from Acqua di Parma.

Barbiere Soft Shaving Cream

Known for its great men’s fragrances, Barbiere Soft Shaving Cream is formulated with pomegranate seed oil to moisturize the skin, lemon oil to soften the hairs, and basil extract to protect from razor burn and irritation.

2. Taming the mane

You’ve probably been using electric clippers in quarantine — if you could actually get your hands on them — in an attempt to cut your own hair. Either way, a trip to the barber shop is probably long overdue.

Alas, we can’t really help you on that front, but once your hair has been tamed, regular maintenance and brushing will still be required to keep your tresses looking healthy, shiny and stylish.

Kiehl’s Amino Acid Shampoo

There is probably no men’s shampoo that shows up in more best-of lists than Kiehl’s Amino Acid Shampoo. Made with pure coconut oil, this is a mild everyday use shampoo for all hair types. The scent is very subtle, and exudes luxury beach resort. If your hair is looking a bit wiry and matted after a year in hibernation, this shampoo and conditioner will soften and shine things up.

Kent Handmade Satinwood Bristle Military Style Hairbrush

Most men probably haven’t given much thought to picking up a hairbrush during quarantine, let alone invest in a good one. Opt for a Mason Pearson Hairbrush.

Or, if you want the ultimate luxury, we suggest the Kent Handmade Satinwood Pure White Bristle Military Style Brush. Its made with handpicked boar bristles and woven into the wood base by hand. It is called Military Style because it lacks a handle and can easily be thrown into a bag for travel.  It’s made with a real wood top and fits perfectly into your hair.

It’s worth noting that boar bristles have several advantages over plastic and metal brushes. They are natural – and thus chemical free – and  firm, allowing a real scalp massage without the scratching. Kent makes several handmade men’s brushes for a range of hair types.

3. Polishing the rough

All the hand washing and sanitizing has certainly spurred the need for hand cream. Fortunately, Aesop has the perfect combination package for us.

Aesop Essential Body and Hand Care Duo

The Essential Body and Hand Care Duo consists of a large “Body Cleansing Slab” of a bar of soap and a wood-scented hand balm. It is almost inevitable that Aesop would land somewhere on this list, given the cult-like following it has for its incredible scents, stylish packaging, and science-based approach to using natural ingredients.

4. Common scents

Countless studies have shown that scent plays an outsized role in creating first impressions and wearing a cologne that reflects your personality is an easy way to ease your way into the masses.

Hermes might be known for their leather goods, scarves, and accessories, but they actually make great men’s fragrances. And their range is broad enough that you are likely to find at least one scent that really catches your attention.

Hermes Eau D’Orange Verte

For example, Hermes Eau D’Orange Verte Eau de Cologne is the first one they ever produced, and it is still their most popular. The bright and green freshness of orange combined with woody undertones provides an extremely pleasant, understated masculine smell

BUY NOW: $132 (3.3 Fl. Oz).

Hermes Poivre Samarcande

A new and bolder smell is their Poivre Samarcande Eau de Toilette which has a peppery, musky, slightly smoky scent of fresh-cut wood.
