We all know that animal prints are a big trend this season. But here’s a micro-trend we’ve noticed: some designers have adopted a literal take on the idea. They’ve designed luxury bags shaped like animals, including handbags in the shape of dogs and cats. Here are some adorable animal-shaped luxury handbags you need to see.
A Literal Take on the Season’s Animal Trend
Several designers embrace whimsy, humor and optimism as through-lines in their collections. This fall luxury bags shaped like animals are showing up all over the place. Some are new versions of beloved classics, like the Loewe Bunny. Others are brand new and seem to have appeared from out of the blue (yep, we’re looking at you, Oscar de la Renta).
Here are some adorable animal-shaped luxury handbags you need to see. After all, there’s no need to face the world alone when you can bring along an undemanding and always-supportive pint-sized companion.
But just be aware: just because they’re cute doesn’t mean that they’re inexpensive.

Oscar de la Renta’s Juice the Sheep shoulder bag ($1,690) is available in both black and white. Debuting during the label’s FW19 runway show, the limited edition bag is inspired by the Scottish Hebridean sheep. It’s made of shearling with nappa leather trim.

The dog-shaped Thom Brown black leather Hector tote ($2,600) is available in black for the dudes – he refers to it as the “doggy bag.” For the ladies, it’s a little bit smaller and rendered in a light-colored check pattern ($1,150).

Balenciaga first introduced the cat-themed version of the ‘Everyday XS AJ’ camera bag as part of its Fall ’18 collection. It looks particularly fresh in this updated version in optic white leather ($1,550) with two tabby kittens.
