Television’s biggest stars and performers attended the 2022 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles last night. But before the ceremony, sparkle ruled the carpet with many stars donning dazzling, glitzy gowns.

Our favorite looks were heavy on the sequins but still maintained classic silhouettes – from elegant dresses reminiscent of old Hollywood to slinky shimmering numbers that we couldn’t take our eyes off.
The stars showed out and came to stun. Here’s every look we loved from the 2022 Emmy Awards.

1. Zendaya
The perennial best-dressed on the carpet took home her second Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. The Euphoria star graced the ceremony with an elegant nod to old Hollywood in a custom Valentino ball gown that featured a bowed peplum waistline.

2. Lizzo
It’s “about damn time” Lizzo won her first Emmy. And the singer did so in a bold can’t-miss-it red tulle Giambattista Valli Haute Couture dress completed with Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings. The 34-year-old, who’s always been one to make a daring fashion statement on the carpet, won the Emmy for outstanding competition program for her Amazon Prime Video series “Watch Out for the Big Grrrls.”

3. Elle Fanning
We love The Great’s star’s take on old Hollywood elegance with a gown by Sharon Long, costume designer for the acclaimed Hulu show. The dress featured a sweetheart neckline with pink petal detailing that matched the inside of its satin train. The 24-year-old Emmy nominee kept her jewelry simple with a Tiffany & Co. diamond hair bow and necklace that complemented her off the shoulder look.

4. Sandra Oh
The carpet’s “best dressed” may be in the eye of the beholder, but perhaps one thing we can all agree on is that the pant suit will never go out of style. No one knows this better than the Killing Eve star, who killed it on the 2022 Emmys Carpet in a purple sequined Rodarte suit. The thirteen-time Emmy nominee, who has rocked the classic silhouette a few times on previous carpets, completed her look with a matching purple low-cut matching silk top and Cathy Waterman jewelry.

5. Christina Ricci
Sparkle was THE theme of the night, and the Yellowjackets star glimmered from head-to-toe in a form-fitting silver Fendi Couture gown with matching bag to boot.

6. HoYeon Jung
The Squid Games star snagged a major partnership with Louis Vuitton in 2021 as a Global House Ambassador for Fashion, Watches and Jewelry, so it’s no surprise that she donned a dress by the fashion house at the awards ceremony. The 28-year-old wore a multi-colored sequined dress with a thigh-high slit that fell in line with the other sparkly numbers we saw all over the carpet.

7. Quinta Brunson
What better way to make an Emmys debut than with a bold metallic statement? Brunson, the Abbott Elementary creator, and star accepted an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series in a bronze-colored Dolce & Gabbana dress. The floor-length gown featured a beaded bodice, a thigh-high slit and was paired with matching sheer gloves.

8. Nicholas Braun
It can be hard to stand out from the pack when it comes to men’s red-carpet fashion. But Succession actor Braun was best in class in a white Dior tuxedo with Fred Leighton diamond collars. The bright color was a nice break from the traditional black tuxes we’re used to seeing from the leading men on the carpet.

9. Lily James
Did someone say glitz and glamor? Leave it to the Pam & Tommy star to give us an elegant debut look that resembled the winged Emmy trophy itself. We couldn’t take our eyes off of the 33-year old’s silver and bronze draped Versace dress or her diamonds from the De Beers’ Talisman collection.

10. Julia Garner Gucci
We’re always a fan of a bold red-carpet risk. And Julia Garner proved she wasn’t afraid to make a statement in a velvet Gucci gown with beaded embroidery and a daring belly-button cutout that was as full of drama as the shows she was being nominated for. Decked in Swarovski Ortyx hoop earrings and platform pumps, the three-time Emmy winner accepted an award for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series for the Netflix drama Ozark.
