The 5 must-have ski fashion and gear for women this season 2022

1. it’s electric

Your crew will always be able to spot you mid-mountain or at the lift when you’re decked out in bold 90s-inspired brights and graphics. To keep the look from verging into clownish territory, first choose a statement piece or color. Our first choice? Luxury sportswear label Goldbergh’s electric yellow ski suit ($1,050) is made from a waterproof stretch shell with an ergonomic design that allows for ease of movement.

If you prefer separates and layering, consider Perfect Moment’s flashy houndstooth print bib ($590) with Moncler’s red hooded puffer ($2,060) that’s as fashionable as it is functional. It’s constructed from stretchy ripstop with lightweight insulation, windproof jersey thumbhole cuffs, an internal powder skirt, and water-resistant AquaGuard® zippers to keep out the elements. If you need another layer underneath, Nordic brand, Kari Traa’s midlayer jacket ($100) in fresh green color-blocking should keep you toasty.

Have some fun with your cold-weather accessories! Top it all off with J.W. Anderson’s sunset colored beanie ($183) made from a luxurious blend of wool and cashmere. Loewe’s artful scarf ($550) is knitted in Spain from a blend of mohair, wool and technical yarns. For gloves, we love Sweden-based brand, Hestra’s waterproof and windproof mittens ($120) in icy whites and blue.

2. alpine heritage

For a timeless alpine look, you can’t go wrong with the traditional codes of red, white and blue complimented by patterns like racing stripes, gingham, and fair isle. Cordova’s 70s-inspired ski suits make anyone look like a pro. We love the Modena suit that’s built with four-way stretch and fleece lined for extra warmth. For a jacket option, Chamonix-based skiwear brand Perfect Moment’s gingham puffer ($900) is as nostalgic as it is modern. The water-repellent shell is filled with lightweight down so you can customize your layers depending on the conditions.

Base layers are the key to comfort when you’re out on the slopes all day. Falke’s retro lettering ski sweater ($370) is knit from pure virgin wool. Pair with Sweaty Betty’s high-performance fabric leggings ($108) which come in a seamless navy geo print. Don’t forget the feet! Smartwool’s socks have been our go-to since we were doing “pizza and french fries” down the bunny slope. These over-the-calf socks ($27) come in gorgeous hues and are cushioned throughout for protection and warmth.

And to keep it styling from head to toe, check out Bogner’s classic Bavarian beanie ($100) with an adorable pom pom. And after taking off those clunky ski boots, these luxurious lacquered boots with fur trim ($498) look chic for all your après-ski festivities.

3. glitz and glam

This is how we imagine European aristocrats and fashion models look while skiing. We may never join their rarefied air but why not have some fun and fake it? For starters, check out Balmain and Rossignol’s ski suit ($4,350) featuring the House’s signature monogram print and medallion belt for a sharp and distinctive look. Another ensemble to consider? Some animal print and shine, of course. Goldbergh’s metallic silver puffer ($834), and ocelot half-zip layer ($184), and gold ski helmet ($432) bring some unabashed glam to the slopes. Pair with Cordova’s two tone bootcut pants ($627) with four-way stretch to complete the sleek look.

For gear, it’s all about logomania. It’s impossible not to feel confident in Fendi’s tinted ski goggles ($670). I mean, look at those spiked studs! For a more subtle touch, Prada’s mittens ($1,120) with the iconic triangle plaque is minimalist and elegant. Dior and AK skis ($9,300)? Sign us up. The Swiss brand’s technical expertise combines with Dior couture spirit in an all-over navy blue Dior Oblique motif. It’s seriously beautiful.

4. winter white

There’s something so refreshing and romantic about wearing winter whites on the mountain. Call it ice princess or snow bunny but we think it’s just plain classy. Cordova’s arrow embellished ski suit ($1,100) strikes the perfect balance between sport and fashion. For cozy après ski bites and drinks, we’re eyeing Bogner’s snowy Fair Isle sweater ($228) to pair with their beige fleece-lined ski pants ($500). To complete the ensemble, Chloé collab with Moonboots ($1,025) is a-must-have with its casually luxe combo of leather and shearling. For the hands, Goldbergh’s white Boxer mittens ($199) are made from waterproof topstitched leather and filled with lightweight Primaloft padding.

For peak snow-inspo, we’re thinking beautiful face-framing white accessories like this plush faux fur hat ($260) with protective ear flaps. Moncler’s standout goggles ($470) are fitted with frosted-blue mirrored lenses to complement the alpine mood while the spherical shape provides greater peripheral vision . And last, but certainly not least, an ice queen needs some…ice. Cast from 18k white gold, these earrings from Mumbai-based Harakh ($8,800) have an architecturally inspired design with rose-cut colorless diamonds and a pave-set border.

5. retro pastel

Skiing is one of those activities that never fails to make us feel like a kid again. And what better way to be fashionable and get those warm nostalgic feelings than retro pastel ski gear? This lavender and mint green Cordova ski suit ($1,390) is so dreamy — as if conjured from our 1980s memories. A matching helmet from Smith ($80) and all-terrain skis from Rossignol ($399.95) and you’re ready to go!

If you want to go even brighter, Bogner’s orange sherbet jacket ($1,900) is irresistibly optimistic and youthful. Pair with these coordinating pastel accented pants (£175.00) made from a recycled polyester that also happens to be waterproof, insulated, and breathable. Accessorize with The Elder Statesman’s striped cashmere knit hat ($295), Tory Burch’s lemon merino fair isle scarf ($99) and iconic Moon Boots ($140) in bubblegum pink. Finally, you can literally see the world in rose-colored goggles by Oakley ($200).
