Each athlete will top it with a white and navy windbreaker. Want to get in on the team spirit? You can purchase the closing ceremony look and more for yourself on the Ralph Lauren website.

Underneath those preppy polo’s, Kim Kardashian West’s shapewear brand Skims will be the first ever official supplier of undergarments, loungewear and pajamas for Team USA. The womenswear collection features sports bras, shirts, vests, cycle shorts and high-waisted briefs. They’re printed with American flags, the five Olympic rings and Team USA branding. And will, of course, soon be available for limited purchase.

2. canada

While Team USA opted for a more preppy look, it’s northern neighbors went in a completely different direction. Though Canada is opting for relatively sporty garments for the opening ceremony and medal podiums, it’s the country’s closing ceremony look designed by Hudson Bay and Levi’s that is grabbing everyone’s attention.

Paying tribute to the fashion forward host city, Canada’s Levi’s denim jackets are strewn with graffiti-style writing and “spray-painted” maple leaves. The collar features two symbolic dates. First, 1964 – the year Tokyo first hosted the Olympic Games. Second, 2020 to represent the year the Games were set to take place.

To showcase the friendship between Canada and Japan, the jacket also features “Canada” spelled in Katakana, a Japanese syllabary.  The uniform pairs this jacket with a black T-shirt sporting the Maple Leaf set in a metallic gold circle. Athletes will finish the look with white Levi’s jeans, for a playful twist on the oft-maligned “double denim” Canadian tuxedo.

Team Canada fans can shop the full collection at thebay.com.

3. great britain

Team Great Britain will channel the 1960’s spirit at this year’s Olympics. You’ll see them wearing mod-style navy Harrington Jackets with red and white union stripes over a white oxford button-down shirt and light chinos.

The opening and closing ceremony uniforms are by British brand Ben Sherman, currently led by creative director Mark Williams. The brand has replaced Stella McCartney as the official outfitter. She designed team uniforms for both the 2012  and 2016 Olympic Games.

Sherman (who passed away in 1987) launched his clothing line in 1963. The designer is famous for his version of the 1937 G9 Harrington Jacket. The garment become synonymous with 1960’s British fashion, counting Paul Newman and Ryan O’Neal among its fan base.

4. liberia

The Liberian-American Telfar Clemens is the official designer of Liberia’s Olympic uniforms. He’s also the official sponsor of the Liberian National Team. Liberian sprinter Emmanuel Matadi – whose girlfriend is a devotee of Telfar’s “Bushwick Birkin” handbags – gets credit for the partnership. Clemens agreed to design the team uniforms for the Tokyo Olympics. The line includes about 70 pieces, including leggings, unitards, sweats, travel bags and track spikes.

As of now we only have a small glimpse of the Olympic looks via Telfar’s social media. The complete collection will only be revealed once the games officially begin. After which, a limited number of games-inspired pieces will drop on Telfar’s website.

5. italy

Leave it to Italy to have uniforms designed by none other than Giorgio Armani. Armani, who has designed the country’s uniforms since the 2012 London Games, used his Spring/Summer 2020 show to debut the look.

The EA7 sportswear uniforms include a soft jersey jacket, polo and pants. “Italia” is splashed across the back in typography that pays tribute to Japan. The Italian flag covers the front of the jacket and shirt. But like the national flag of the host country, its rendered in a circle rather than a rectangle.

“Fratelli d’Italia,” or “Brothers of Italy,” is the imprint inside the collar of the jacket. The phrase is from “The Song of Italians,” the country’s national anthem. The full lyrics to the anthem are printed on a tag inside over the image of a traditional Japanese temple.

Sadly, you can’t get the exact same uniform as the team Italy (it’s sold out). But you can get some other team swag. Courtesy of Armani, of course.
