London, flowers, spring. Say no more. We’re all in. We just got back from a quick trip to London and got a little taste of the joys of spring in the city. Here’s what we saw on one of our adventures: some of the vibrant stunning flower boxes of London this spring.

spring in London means window boxes with flowers in bloom

We just returned from a quick trip to London. Happily, while we were there, we had a few precious moments to walk the city in spring. Our friends at the Beaumont in Mayfair reminded us that one of the great joys of London is the charming window boxes filled with flowers in bloom all over the city.

So went for a quick stroll to see what we could find. If you love flowers, have a look. The floral artists have outdone themselves this year.  Here’s our photo journal of some of the loveliest flower boxes of London this spring.

soft pastels

Flower boxes in London can be found not just in windows, but also along wrought-iron fences all over town. Not surprisingly, in spring, many of these boxes sport floral arrangements in soft pastel colors as an homage to the season.

Near Berkeley Square, we spotted this pretty window box arrangement with ivy and blooms. Love how it pops against the grey and white bricks and trim.

Carlos Place in Mayfair is a floral showplace right now. It’s lined with designer luxury stores, each one contributing to the riot of color and greenery.

vibrant red flower boxes London

We’re partial to crimson, so our favorites are the stunning red geraniums we saw in more than one window box.

an autumnal palette

After all the vibrant spring and summer colors, it was like a palette cleanser when we saw these delicate white blooms, alongside rich heather and green.

an explosion of purple flower boxes in London

If there’s one color that defines spring in London, though, it’s definitely purple. We saw lavender and deep purple blooms everywhere we went. It’s gorgeous and energizing.

a cheeky croc

We can’t end without giving a shout-out to the team at the Lacoste boutique on Duke Street in Marylebone. In addition to the vibrant purple flowers in their window boxes, they’ve created a subterranean moat around part of the store. In keeping with the brand’s icon, it’s inhabited by crocodile. No swimming! Duly noted.
