Guess which category of apparel is selling faster right now than any other? If you guessed lingerie, you’re right! While lounge wear and boss women blouses have their role in this #Stayhome era, it’s not all about work, thankfully. Our correspondent Julie Chang Murphy has a curated (and tasteful) roundup of the best intimate pleasure products and luxury lingerie for women right now.

so many ways to pass the time in this #Stayhome era . . .

For about a month, we have been covering all the ways to feel calm, have fun, cook well, and be productive at work while on lockdown. While half of us might be turning to old-fashioned pastimes like board games or baking bread, the other half is turning to the most primordial pursuit of all: sex.

The numbers don’t lie, dear reader. According to our friends at Women’s Wear Daily and Vogue, lingerie searches and sales have jumped globally and are currently up 15 per cent.

Even more evidence that people are staying home and trying their best to flatten the curve? As the New York Department of Health decree reminded us- the safest sex partner is yourself.  And online sex toys and accessories purveyors, like Swedish company, Lelo, and WOW Tech (which manufactures the popular WeVibe and Womanizer vibrator brands) have jumped up by more than 40%. So . . . maybe there won’t be a COVID-19 Baby Boom in the winter months, then?

O’Keeffe’s stunning abstract layers evoke natural and organic forms. But the high-key colors suggest more than meets the eye. Our lingerie selections pick up on the painting’s airy, pastel colors and its soft and undulating, feminine shapes.

3. Inspired by The Kiss, c. 1882 by Auguste Rodin

The dynamic composition of these two partners caught in an embrace make this marble sculpture one of the most celebrated depictions of love and idealism in the history of art. The fluid and graceful depiction of the human bodies inspire the simple and languid quality of these ivory and shadow intimates.

4. Inspired by: The Dream (1932) by Pablo Picasso

Though Picasso’s famous portrait of his mistress is part of his distorted style, there is no confusing its themes of eroticism and sexuality. As bold colors and contrasting hues are known to capture attention and quicken the pulse, we thought it a perfect inspiration for these underpinnings.

5. Madame X (Madame Pierre Gautreau), (1883-84) by John Singer Sargent

Mysterious, seductive and unattainable, Madame X might be considered the art world’s original “bad girl.” At the time, the painting scandalized both art critics and the public alike, but is now considered an enduring classic. Like we always say, you can’t go wrong with black.
